We have always loved good bakes but it was a struggle finding simple everyday baked goods like Banana Bread or Granola in our Festac neighbourhood.
In 2016, we decided it was time to convert the longtime “family hobby/passion” of baking into a business. We were both still working our 9-5 in different countries but having meetings over Skype on how to launch an online Bake Shop in Lagos.
I (MJ) had been baking Banana Bread, Carrot Bread and Granola for family and friends. In August 2016, I sent a jar of Granola to Vivian in London, and when she tried it, she told me it was rich and super delish! At first, I thought it was because I was her sister and she didn’t want to hurt my feelings, but she told me it couldn’t be compared with the other brands in the stores.

I later got to know that she didn’t touch any of the foreign brands until the jar I sent finished. She also shared with some of colleagues and they loved it! However, we did not start selling it nor any other product until August 2017 when we officially launched. By this time, Vivian had relocated to Nigeria and I had quit my 9-5.

We both resigned our jobs in 2017 to sell Banana Bread, Carrot Bread and Granola full time. It has gradually become the Best Banana Bread in Lagos. , The feedback we keep receiving from our lovely customers has been amazing and it keeps us going. For every product you buy from us, it has been tried and tested and we still seek to improve every day.
